# Getting started

> Run a first StoreInspect search and choose between Stores, Contacts, and Lists.

StoreInspect starts with companies, then moves to people. Build the account list first, check that the stores match your market, and reveal contacts only when the segment is worth using.

## Choose the right page

| Page     | Open it when                                                                               |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Stores | You are building a company list by category, size, location, tech stack, or buying signal. |
| Contacts | The export needs exact people, roles, and revealed channels. |
| Lists | You are saving companies for review or excluding companies already exported. |
| Reveals | You are checking contacts already unlocked by your account. |

  </Step>

  <Step title="Inspect a few stores">
    Open store profiles and confirm that the results match the companies you would contact.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add contact filters last">
    Add role or contact-info filters after the company list looks right.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save or export">
    Save good companies to a list, or switch to Contacts when the CSV needs specific people.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Start broad before narrowing

Most empty searches come from stacking strict filters too early. A narrow category, one country, high revenue, high traffic, Shopify Plus, a specific app gap, and exact role filters can remove every store.

Add filters one at a time so you can see which condition changes the result set.
