Signals watch for useful store changes and collect matching stores in one place. Use them to find new prospects when StoreInspect discovers a store or detects a change to its visible technology stack.

Choose what to track

A new-store match means the store is new to StoreInspect. It does not mean the business or storefront launched recently.

Create a signal

1

Open Signals

Select Signals in the dashboard sidebar, then choose New signal.
2

Choose a signal type

Select New stores, App changes, or Pixel changes.
3

Choose the change

For an app or pixel signal, choose whether to track additions or removals, then select the technology.
4

Narrow the store scope

Add optional category, country, traffic, revenue, app, or pixel filters. Leave the section empty when the signal should match across all stores.
5

Create the signal

Review the choices and select Create signal. A new signal may already contain recent matching results.

How store filters work

Every filter row must match the store. When one row contains several selected values, any of those values can satisfy that row. For example, a signal with these filters:
  • Category is Fashion or Beauty
  • Country is United States
  • Currently uses app is Klaviyo
matches a United States fashion or beauty store where StoreInspect detects Klaviyo.
With no store filters, any store can trigger the signal.

Review matches

The Signals table shows the current status, match count, latest match, and store scope for every signal. Open a signal to:
  • Search and sort matching stores.
  • Copy selected rows into a spreadsheet.
  • Dismiss results that are not useful.
  • Open Dismissed to review or restore dismissed results.
Dismissal changes only your result view. It does not remove the store from StoreInspect.

Manage a signal

  • Pause: Stop collecting new matches without deleting the signal or its existing results.
  • Resume: Start collecting new matches again.
  • Edit: Change the signal name, tracked technology, direction, or store filters.
  • Delete: Permanently remove the signal and its results.
Paused signals do not count toward the active-signal limit.

Active-signal limits

If the active limit is reached, pause an existing signal, create the new signal as paused, or upgrade the plan.

When matches appear

Signal timing depends on when StoreInspect can reliably check a storefront. Changes may not appear immediately. StoreInspect confirms removals before reporting them to reduce false alerts caused by temporary loading problems. Failed or unavailable storefront checks do not count as confirmed removals. Matches and new-match counts appear in the StoreInspect dashboard. Signal email notifications are not currently sent.

Detection limits

Signals use technology that is visible on public storefront pages. Private integrations, backend-only apps, consent behavior, regional loading, and custom implementations can hide an app or pixel from detection.
A missing detection does not prove that a store has never used, or no longer uses, a technology. Verify high-value prospects before using a change in outreach.

If a signal has no matches

Try these checks:
  1. Remove optional store filters to widen the scope.
  2. Confirm that the selected app, pixel, and change direction are correct.
  3. Check the Signals table to confirm that the signal is Active.
  4. Allow time for StoreInspect to observe qualifying stores.
