The StoreInspect integration for Make lets you search and enrich Shopify stores, find decision-maker contacts, and map StoreInspect data into automated scenarios. It uses the StoreInspect API and requires a paid StoreInspect plan with API access.

Before you connect

Create a dedicated API key under Settings > API in StoreInspect. Give the key a recognizable name such as Make and store it only in Make’s encrypted connection.

Connect StoreInspect

  1. Create or open a scenario in Make.
  2. Add any StoreInspect module, such as Get Usage.
  3. Select Create a connection.
  4. Paste your StoreInspect API key and save the connection.
  5. Run the module once to confirm the connection.
Get Usage should return your StoreInspect plan, API quota, search-row usage, contact credits, and API-key metadata.

Available modules

  • Search Shopify Stores returns stores filtered by category, country, traffic, estimated revenue, Shopify Plus status, technologies, themes, Meta ads, and contact availability.
  • Get a Shopify Store returns StoreInspect intelligence for one known store domain.
  • Enrich Shopify Stores enriches up to 25 known domains in one request.
  • Search Contacts returns masked contact previews filtered by role, seniority, available channels, and store criteria.
  • Reveal Contacts reveals selected contact details for up to 10 contact IDs.
  • Get Usage returns the account’s current StoreInspect API and credit usage.
  • Make an API Call sends an authorized request to another StoreInspect API endpoint using a relative versioned path such as /v1/usage.

Search Shopify stores

  1. Add Search Shopify Stores to a scenario.
  2. Select at least one positive filter, such as a country or category.
  3. Set the maximum number of bundles to return.
  4. Run the scenario.
Store search and contact search follow StoreInspect cursors automatically until the requested output limit is reached or no more results remain. Exclusion filters and Shopify Plus = No cannot be used as the only filter. Each returned store is a separate Make bundle. You can map its domain, category, country, traffic tier, revenue tier, lead fit score, detected technologies, and contact summary into later modules.

Search and reveal contacts

Search Contacts returns masked previews and contact IDs. It does not expose email addresses or phone numbers. To reveal selected contacts:
  1. Map contact IDs from Search Contacts or Enrich Shopify Stores into Reveal Contacts.
  2. Add a stable idempotency key when a scenario may retry the same reveal request.
  3. Run the module and map the revealed fields into later steps.
Reveals use StoreInspect contact credits. Reusing the same idempotency key for the same request prevents a retry from spending credits twice. Never generate a new idempotency key for an automatic retry of the same reveal operation.

Usage and operation costs

Make and StoreInspect meter different resources:
  • Make reports its own scenario operation cost, often shown as 1 credit used for one module execution.
  • StoreInspect separately meters API requests, returned search rows, and contact reveal credits according to your plan.
Use Get Usage to inspect StoreInspect limits and remaining credits.

Errors

  • Invalid API key: Create or rotate a key under Settings > API, then update the Make connection.
  • API access unavailable: Confirm that the StoreInspect account has an active plan with API access.
  • No positive filter: Add a country, category, technology, traffic tier, revenue tier, or another narrowing filter.
  • Rate limit reached: Allow Make to retry after the rate-limit window resets.
StoreInspect responses include a request ID. Include it when contacting support about a failed module execution.

Disconnect or rotate a key

To stop a Make connection completely:
  1. Delete or update the StoreInspect connection in Make.
  2. Revoke the corresponding API key under Settings > API in StoreInspect.
Deleting only the Make connection removes the saved key from Make. Revoking the key in StoreInspect prevents any retained copy from being used again.
