Before you connect
Create a dedicated API key under Settings > API in StoreInspect. Give the key a recognizable name such asMake and store it only in Make’s encrypted connection.
Connect StoreInspect
- Create or open a scenario in Make.
- Add any StoreInspect module, such as Get Usage.
- Select Create a connection.
- Paste your StoreInspect API key and save the connection.
- Run the module once to confirm the connection.
Available modules
- Search Shopify Stores returns stores filtered by category, country, traffic, estimated revenue, Shopify Plus status, technologies, themes, Meta ads, and contact availability.
- Get a Shopify Store returns StoreInspect intelligence for one known store domain.
- Enrich Shopify Stores enriches up to 25 known domains in one request.
- Search Contacts returns masked contact previews filtered by role, seniority, available channels, and store criteria.
- Reveal Contacts reveals selected contact details for up to 10 contact IDs.
- Get Usage returns the account’s current StoreInspect API and credit usage.
- Make an API Call sends an authorized request to another StoreInspect API endpoint using a relative versioned path such as
/v1/usage.
Search Shopify stores
- Add Search Shopify Stores to a scenario.
- Select at least one positive filter, such as a country or category.
- Set the maximum number of bundles to return.
- Run the scenario.
Search and reveal contacts
Search Contacts returns masked previews and contact IDs. It does not expose email addresses or phone numbers. To reveal selected contacts:- Map contact IDs from Search Contacts or Enrich Shopify Stores into Reveal Contacts.
- Add a stable idempotency key when a scenario may retry the same reveal request.
- Run the module and map the revealed fields into later steps.
Usage and operation costs
Make and StoreInspect meter different resources:- Make reports its own scenario operation cost, often shown as
1 credit usedfor one module execution. - StoreInspect separately meters API requests, returned search rows, and contact reveal credits according to your plan.
Errors
- Invalid API key: Create or rotate a key under Settings > API, then update the Make connection.
- API access unavailable: Confirm that the StoreInspect account has an active plan with API access.
- No positive filter: Add a country, category, technology, traffic tier, revenue tier, or another narrowing filter.
- Rate limit reached: Allow Make to retry after the rate-limit window resets.
Disconnect or rotate a key
To stop a Make connection completely:- Delete or update the StoreInspect connection in Make.
- Revoke the corresponding API key under Settings > API in StoreInspect.
