Which AI clients work with the StoreInspect MCP server?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. Setup guides cover ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, and VS Code. ChatGPT and Claude use their own endpoints (/openai and /claude); other clients use https://mcp.storeinspect.com/mcp.

What can I ask it to do?

Search Shopify stores by category, country, installed or missing apps, pixels, themes, traffic tier, revenue tier, Shopify Plus, and Meta ads; look up one store; enrich a list of domains; search founder, marketing, or ecommerce contacts; and reveal the contacts you pick. For example: "Find 25 US Shopify Plus beauty stores using Meta Pixel but not Klaviyo."

Which plans include MCP access?

Free accounts can use the store and contact tools through Claude, with up to 50 records per search. Other clients need Pro at $99/mo or higher, which includes 1,000 contact reveals a month shared with the web app and REST API.

Can an AI client spend my contact credits by itself?

No. Contact searches return previews without raw emails, phone numbers, or LinkedIn URLs. A reveal only runs when the call includes an explicit confirmation to spend credits, and re-revealing a contact you already revealed is free.

Do I need an API key?

No. The MCP server signs in with your StoreInspect account over OAuth, and you approve the requested scopes. Do not paste API keys into AI clients; use the REST API with a key for your own production integrations.

Is this Shopify's own MCP server?

No. StoreInspect is not affiliated with Shopify. Its MCP server searches StoreInspect's index of public Shopify storefront data and contacts, so you can research and reach stores you don't run.
