Store Inspector ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension handles your information.

TL;DR: Store Inspector collects ZERO personal data. All analysis happens locally in your browser.

Store Inspector does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers or third parties.

We do not:

• Collect any personal information
• Track your browsing history
• Use cookies, analytics, or telemetry
• Send data to our servers (we don't have any)
• Share data with third parties
• Require user accounts or authentication

When you visit a Shopify store and activate Store Inspector, the extension:

• Analyzes publicly available information on the webpage (theme files, JavaScript files, HTML structure)
• Makes requests to the current store's domain only to gather additional public data (product count from sitemap, collection data, price ranges)
• Processes all data locally in your browser - no data is sent to Store Inspector's servers or any third-party services
• Displays results in the extension popup
• Optionally saves results locally on your device using Chrome's storage API

To provide accurate store analysis, Store Inspector makes network requests only to the Shopify store you are currently viewing. These requests fetch publicly available data:

• Sitemap.xml: To count the number of products in the store
• Collections API: To retrieve collection count and product distribution
• Product JSON: To sample price ranges from a small number of products

Important: All of this data is publicly accessible and already available on the store's website. No requests are made to Store Inspector's servers, analytics services, or any third parties. All analysis happens entirely in your browser.

Store Inspector uses Chrome's chrome.storage.local API to save store inspection results on your device. This storage:

• Is limited to a maximum of 5 saved stores (in the free version)
• Remains entirely on your device
• Is not synchronized across devices
• Is not accessible to us or any third parties
• Can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the extension

Store Inspector requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage: Allows you to save up to 5 store analyses locally on your device for quick reference. This data never leaves your computer.
• activeTab: Grants access to the current tab when you click the extension icon, enabling detection of Shopify themes, apps, and pixels on the page you're viewing.
• scripting: Enables the extension to inject a content script that analyzes the current Shopify store page. All analysis happens locally in your browser.

These permissions are used solely for the extension's core functionality and do not enable any personal data collection or tracking.

Store Inspector does not integrate with any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. The extension is completely self-contained and operates 100% locally.

Since we do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers, there is no risk of data breaches or unauthorized access to your personal information through our service. All information analyzed by Store Inspector remains on your device under your control.

Since we don't collect any personal data, there is no data to access, modify, or delete from our servers. You maintain full control over any locally stored data by:

• Managing your saved stores directly in the extension popup
• Clearing Chrome extension data in your browser settings
• Uninstalling the extension to remove all local data

Store Inspector does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Our extension operates entirely locally and does not collect any personal information.

We will update this Privacy Policy if our data practices change in future versions. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date. We recommend checking this page periodically if you have concerns.
