Introduction

StoreInspect ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the StoreInspect website, dashboard, API, Chrome extension, and integrations handle information.

Data Collection

We collect the information needed to operate StoreInspect, provide store and contact intelligence, secure accounts, process subscriptions, and support customer-requested integrations.

  • Account information such as name, email address, authentication identifiers, and account settings
  • Billing and subscription identifiers handled with our payment provider
  • Product usage, security, diagnostic, and support information
  • Saved lists, filters, revealed contacts, export history, and integration activity
  • Public business information about ecommerce companies and professional contacts

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve StoreInspect
  • Authenticate users, manage plans and credits, and process payments
  • Deliver store research, contact reveal, export, API, and integration features
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service or security updates
  • Detect abuse, investigate errors, and comply with legal obligations

Public Business Data

StoreInspect collects and organizes business information from public websites and data providers. This can include company domains, technology signals, estimated business metrics, and professional contact information. We use this information for business research and prospecting features.

Contact us if you want to ask about, correct, or request removal of professional contact information associated with you.

Local Storage

StoreInspect uses Chrome's chrome.storage.local API to save store inspection results on your device. The website also uses cookies and similar storage needed for authentication, preferences, security, attribution, and product operation.

  • Extension data can be cleared by removing the extension or its local storage
  • Dashboard sessions can be ended by signing out
  • Browser controls can restrict non-essential cookies where applicable

Permissions

StoreInspect requests the following Chrome permissions:

  • storage: Allows you to save up to 5 store analyses locally on your device for quick reference. This data never leaves your computer.
  • activeTab:Grants access to the current tab when you click the extension icon, enabling detection of Shopify themes, apps, and pixels on the page you're viewing.
  • scripting: Enables the extension to inject a content script that analyzes the current Shopify store page. All analysis happens locally in your browser.

These permissions are used for the extension's store-inspection and local-storage functionality.

Google Workspace API Data

The StoreInspect Google Sheets add-on can access only the spreadsheet in which it is installed and currently open. It reads cells only when you select them and start an action, and it writes requested StoreInspect results to dedicated output sheets in that spreadsheet. It does not request access to Google Drive, other spreadsheets, Gmail, Calendar, or Contacts.

  • Data accessed and used: Selected store domains or StoreInspect contact IDs are sent to StoreInspect only to perform the enrichment or contact-reveal action you request. StoreInspect does not copy or store the spreadsheet itself.
  • Storage and deletion: StoreInspect OAuth credentials are stored in per-user Apps Script properties and are cleared when you disconnect. StoreInspect retains account, reveal, credit, security, and privacy-safe request records as described elsewhere in this policy. Output sheets remain in your spreadsheet until you delete them.
  • Sharing and human access: We do not sell Google Workspace API data or transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. We disclose it to service providers only as needed to operate and secure the user-facing add-on, and allow human access only with your consent or when required for security or legal compliance.
  • Protection: External requests use HTTPS, spreadsheet access is limited to the current file, and StoreInspect OAuth credentials are isolated per add-on user. StoreInspect does not receive your Google password or Google OAuth tokens.
  • Advertising and AI: We do not use raw, derived, aggregated, or anonymized Google Workspace API data for advertising, lending decisions, or training generalized AI or machine-learning models, and we do not transfer it to third parties for those purposes.

StoreInspect's use and transfer of information received from Google Workspace APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third-Party Services

We use service providers for infrastructure, authentication, payments, communications, analytics, error monitoring, and customer support. We disclose information to them only as needed to provide those services and protect StoreInspect.

When you connect a CRM or other integration, StoreInspect sends the records you select to that provider and stores encrypted OAuth credentials and synchronization history. The connected provider processes that data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process. Integration credentials are encrypted at rest. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain account and product data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Integration synchronization activity is generally retained for 90 days. Some billing, security, backup, and audit records may be retained longer where necessary.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. You can manage much of your account and integration data in StoreInspect or contact us for help.

  • Disconnect connected integrations from Settings
  • Manage locally stored extension data in your browser
  • Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion

Children's Privacy

StoreInspect is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this Privacy Policy if our data practices change in future versions. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date. We recommend checking this page periodically if you have concerns.
