Professional Contact Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 12, 2026
Who this notice is for
This notice is for people whose professional contact information appears in StoreInspect, even if they do not have a StoreInspect account. Our main Privacy Policy covers account holders, website visitors, and product users.
StoreInspect is operated as a sole proprietorship registered in Norway and based in Trondheim, Norway. StoreInspect is the controller for the processing described on this page.
What we collect
Depending on what is available, a professional contact record may include:
- Name, job title, role, department, and company or store association
- Professional profile links and general work location
- Work email addresses or other email addresses presented or supplied in a professional context
- Business phone numbers, including mobile numbers presented in a professional context
- Basic source, collection, verification, and confidence information
We may infer a likely work email from a person's name and a company's public email pattern, then check whether the address appears deliverable. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information for the contact database.
Where the information comes from
Professional contact information may come from:
- Public company and merchant websites, including team, about, contact, and similar pages
- Publicly accessible web pages, professional profiles, and search-result snippets
- Business-data and contact-enrichment providers
- Information inferred or verified from the sources above
If you ask about a record concerning you, we will provide the source information we have, subject to any lawful limits.
Why we use it
We organize professional contact information so StoreInspect customers can research ecommerce companies and identify relevant people for lawful business outreach, partnerships, and market research. We also process the information to verify and improve data quality, secure the service, prevent misuse, and respond to privacy requests.
We rely mainly on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR: our interest in operating a business-information service and our customers' interests in finding relevant professional points of contact. We consider the professional context, the limited nature of the information, its source, the likely effect on the person, and the safeguards and rights described here. We process information needed to handle privacy rights and legal obligations under Article 6(1)(c) where applicable.
Who receives it
Professional contact information may be disclosed to:
- StoreInspect customers using search, contact reveal, lists, exports, APIs, or integrations for their own lawful business purposes
- A customer's chosen CRM, spreadsheet, or other integration when the customer asks StoreInspect to send the record there
- Service providers that host, secure, monitor, support, or otherwise help us operate StoreInspect
- Professional advisers, regulators, courts, or authorities where necessary
Recipients or service providers may be outside Norway or the EEA. Where the GDPR requires a transfer safeguard, we use an applicable adequacy decision, contractual safeguard, or other lawful transfer mechanism. Contact us if you want more information about safeguards relevant to your information.
How long we keep it
We keep a professional contact record while we reasonably believe it remains relevant to the business-information purposes above. Factors include whether the information remains publicly available, whether the professional association is likely to be current, when it was collected or checked, and whether keeping it is still necessary. Records are restricted or removed when we uphold a valid request or determine that they should no longer be used.
After a removal, we may retain a keyed, non-readable fingerprint of an email address and a minimal request record so our systems do not add the same address again. We keep that suppression information only for privacy compliance and review whether it remains necessary.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may ask us to access, correct, erase, or restrict information about you, or object to our use of it. Data portability may also apply in limited circumstances. If personal information is processed for direct marketing, you may object to that processing at any time.
To make a request, email support@storeinspect.com. Tell us the email address or professional profile concerned and what you want us to do. We may ask you to confirm control of an email address when needed, but we will not ask for more identity information than is reasonably necessary.
You may also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, or the data-protection authority where you live or work.
Automated processing
We use automated tools to collect, infer, classify, and verify professional information. StoreInspect does not use this contact data to make decisions about people that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
