"Gift app" adoption is mostly not gift cards. Among the 8,314 gift-stack stores, 5,270 have gift-with-purchase tooling, while 1,936 show a true gift-card or store-credit app.
That makes sense. Native Shopify gift cards cover the basic job for many merchants. A third-party gift-card app has to justify itself with more advanced value: loyalty credit, refund credit, bulk corporate cards, scheduled delivery, custom balance pages, or better post-purchase messaging.

First, EasyGift dominates the broad gift stack, but it answers a promotion question, not a gift-card question. It helps stores auto-add a free product, run BOGO logic, and create gift-with-purchase incentives. The jump from under 50K traffic to 50K to 200K is the practical buying moment. Below 50K, only 0.192% of stores show a gifting-stack app. At 50K to 200K, adoption jumps to 2.359%. At 200K to 1M, it reaches 8.135%.

Gift-card apps do not require a huge catalog. A 20-product candle brand, bakery, jewelry store, or cosmetics brand can make gift cards work. But catalog depth helps identify stores that have more ways to package, personalize, bundle, or promote gifts.

Gift-stack stores are not casual installs. They run about twice as many visible apps and nearly twice as many tracking pixels as stores without detected gift apps. They are also far more likely to be on Shopify Plus.
