Best Shopify Dropshipping Apps: The Shortlist

  • DSers is the strongest starting point for AliExpress and Alibaba sourcing. Its Shopify App Store listing has 5.0 stars from 6,229 reviews and a free plan.
  • Shopify Collective is the best native option for eligible merchants who want to source from other Shopify brands instead of an open supplier marketplace.
  • DropCommerce is the clearest fit for North American products and delivery. Syncee covers a broader group of vetted suppliers across the US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, and other markets.
  • CJdropshipping and EPROLO suit merchants who want sourcing, fulfillment, and brand-building services from one provider. EPROLO is especially fashion-focused.
  • Trendsi is the specialist choice for fashion boutiques. Printful, Gelato, and Printify serve print-on-demand businesses, which is a different operating model from catalog dropshipping.
  • There is no honest universal winner. Order samples, test the full fulfillment path, and choose for supplier location, product quality, landed margin, returns, and support.
  • Our 1,362,339-store study found 36,334 stores with one of three comparable public fulfillment signals. It cannot measure backend-only apps fairly, so we do not use those counts as an installation leaderboard.

The best dropshipping app is the one that can deliver the product you sampled, to the market you serve, at a landed cost that leaves room for refunds and customer acquisition. A large catalog does not compensate for unreliable stock or a return process that your support team cannot explain.

Shopify separates general dropshipping from print on demand for good reason. A merchant reselling existing supplier products needs catalog access, inventory sync, order routing, and tracking. A print-on-demand merchant needs design tools, print quality, blank-product choice, production coverage, and branding controls. Comparing both models in one numbered ranking hides the decision that matters.

This guide uses three evidence layers:

  1. Shopify's current dropshipping and print-on-demand recommendations.
  2. Current Shopify App Store listings, ratings, pricing paths, and product claims checked on September 14, 2026.
  3. StoreInspect's public-storefront data across 1,362,339 active Shopify stores.

If you are deciding what to sell rather than how to fulfill it, use our winning-product research guide. If you want to study other stores, compare dropshipping research tools. Those are separate jobs from supplier and fulfillment selection.

How We Evaluated the Apps

We did not place test orders from every service, so this is not a claim of hands-on fulfillment testing. The comparison uses facts that can be checked in official Shopify sources and a trial process any merchant can repeat.

The criteria are:

  • Sourcing model: AliExpress, an app-owned catalog, independent brands, regional suppliers, fashion, or print on demand.
  • Destination fit: Where the supplier or production network can fulfill, not simply where the app company has an office.
  • Automation: Product import, inventory and price updates, order routing, and tracking sync.
  • Brand control: Product customization, labels, packaging, inserts, and the ability to graduate from a generic catalog.
  • Commercial terms: App subscription, product cost, shipping, transaction charges, and the working capital required between order and payout.
  • Operational risk: Samples, stock accuracy, split shipments, returns, refunds, and support escalation.

We use current App Store rating and pricing labels as screening data. They do not prove that a supplier will perform well for your product. For the same reason, our best apps for new Shopify stores recommends installing for a real operating need instead of copying a fixed app stack.

What 1,362,339 Shopify Stores Can and Cannot Tell Us

StoreInspect analyzed active store records on September 14, 2026. We found 36,334 stores with a recognized public signal for Printful, CJdropshipping, or Gelato, equal to 2.67% of the dataset.

Public storefront signalStores50K+ traffic tierContactable storesAverage detected apps
Printful34,0749,13020,1228.37
CJdropshipping1,5774741,01410.02
Gelato1,1172287979.07

One store can expose more than one of these signals, so the rows overlap. These are storefront-signal counts, not installation counts. Printful can leave recognizable asset references on product pages. CJdropshipping and Gelato can also expose public evidence in some implementations. An app with a more visible footprint can produce a larger count even if its true installed base is not proportionally larger.

Most supplier apps run in Shopify Admin. DSers, Zendrop, AutoDS, Spocket, Syncee, Shopify Collective, DropCommerce, and similar tools may import products and route orders without loading a recognizable script on the public store. Our dropshipping detection study explains why a storefront scan cannot prove that these tools are installed.

That boundary changes how the data should be used. The table supports a public-footprint comparison among the three named apps. It does not support claims such as “Printful is 34 times more popular than Gelato” or “only one store uses DSers.” We exclude those interpretations.

The visible-signal stores were concentrated in categories where supplier fulfillment and customization are plausible:

CategoryActive storesStores with a visible signalSignal rate
Fashion338,07114,0614.16%
Home & Garden205,4984,6892.28%
Hobby85,9703,1923.71%
Sports & Fitness54,6531,8293.35%
Gifts & Flowers24,1397823.24%

The cluster also had visible evidence of reviews on 21.7% of stores and email or SMS tools on 26.2%. Those are descriptions of the current storefront stack, not proof that installing a review app or an email app caused growth.

DSers: Best for AliExpress and Alibaba Workflows

DSers is the cleanest first test when the intended supplier catalog is AliExpress, Alibaba, or 1688. Its official listing describes one-click product listing, bulk ordering, stock and price updates, tracking sync, supplier mapping, and a free plan. The 5.0 rating across 6,229 App Store reviews is the largest review signal in this shortlist.

The advantage is operational fit, not automatic product quality. DSers connects the workflow. The merchant still chooses the supplier, checks the product, sets realistic delivery expectations, and owns the refund. Order samples from the same supplier and shipping method customers will receive. A sample from a different warehouse tells you very little.

Choose DSers when:

  • You have already decided to source from AliExpress or Alibaba.
  • Bulk order placement and supplier mapping remove real manual work.
  • You can absorb variation between individual marketplace suppliers.

Do not choose it only because the free plan makes a large catalog easy to import. Our catalog-size benchmarks and catalog growth study both favor deliberate merchandising over indiscriminate product count.

Shopify Collective: Best Native Brand-to-Brand Option

Shopify Collective lets eligible retailers import products from participating Shopify brands. Product details and inventory sync, suppliers fulfill the orders, and payments are processed after fulfillment. Shopify lists it as a recommended dropshipping option for US merchants.

Collective has a different value proposition from AliExpress. You are adding products from existing brands, not choosing from a general commodity marketplace. That can improve product coherence and domestic delivery, but supplier access, margins, return terms, and geographic eligibility narrow the available catalog.

It is the first option to evaluate when you already know complementary brands your customers would buy. A specialty food shop adding compatible pantry products is a better fit than a one-product store searching for any trending item.

DropCommerce and Syncee: Best for Regional Supplier Control

DropCommerce focuses on US and Canadian suppliers. Its listing advertises inventory and tracking sync, automated fulfillment, product samples, and a free plan that allows a small number of imports. The current rating is 4.6 from 127 reviews.

Choose it when North American sourcing is part of the customer promise. Confirm the product's actual ship-from location, because a supplier's home country does not guarantee that every item sits in a domestic warehouse.

Syncee is broader. Shopify's recommendation describes vetted suppliers across the US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, and other regions. Its listing covers product import, inventory updates, order forwarding, a free plan, and the option to move from dropshipping to wholesale.

Choose Syncee when you want to compare suppliers across multiple regions or expect to shift successful products into wholesale purchasing. Marketplace breadth creates more work during evaluation. Check each supplier's minimums, returns, feed freshness, and shipping terms rather than applying one platform-wide assumption.

CJdropshipping: Best for a Sourcing-Agent Workflow

CJdropshipping combines a product catalog with sourcing requests, order handling, warehousing, and fulfillment. The Shopify App Store currently shows 4.9 stars from 2,832 reviews and a free-to-install label.

This model suits a merchant who wants one service involved from sourcing through delivery. It also creates concentration risk. Test the exact product, packaging, warehouse, destination, and shipping line before moving meaningful volume. Ask who pays for a lost parcel, a defective item, and a return that cannot economically travel back to the origin warehouse.

We detected a CJdropshipping storefront signal on 1,577 stores. That count is a lower bound and can be shaped by the app's public footprint. It says nothing about fulfillment quality.

EPROLO and Trendsi: Best for Fashion

EPROLO is currently prominent in Shopify's dropshipping category and carries the Built for Shopify designation. Its listing positions the product around fashion sourcing, custom labels, tags, packaging without a minimum order quantity, and automated order and tracking updates. It has 4.9 stars from 554 reviews and a free plan.

Trendsi is more narrowly built for fashion boutiques. Its 4.8 rating from 1,790 reviews gives it a larger current review base than EPROLO, but the two should still be tested against your category, sizing requirements, target country, and return workflow.

Fashion magnifies supplier mistakes. A product photo can look right while the fabric weight, color, fit, and sizing are wrong. Place samples across several sizes, wash them, photograph them yourself, and calculate the cost of returns before importing a collection. Use the fashion store database and our fashion app study for merchandising context, not as substitutes for samples.

Printful, Gelato, and Printify: Best for Print on Demand

Print on demand is dropshipping with a production step. Customers buy your design, the provider prints it, and the finished product ships without inventory sitting in your office. That gives you more brand ownership than reselling an unchanged catalog, but print quality and base cost become central.

Printful for brand controls

Printful is the strongest starting point when packaging, pack-ins, packing slips, embroidery, and consistent design tools matter. Shopify recommends it in the current POD shortlist. The App Store shows 4.8 stars from 3,857 reviews and a free-to-install model.

Its public signal appeared on 34,074 stores in our dataset. That is useful evidence that the integration leaves a meaningful live-store footprint, but it is not a clean install count. Compare samples and landed costs with the exact destination mix you expect.

Gelato for distributed production

Gelato emphasizes local production through a network of more than 140 production hubs across 32 countries. Shopify recommends it for merchants who want to produce nearer to customers. Its listing shows 4.8 stars from 1,020 reviews and free installation with a trial path.

The network can reduce distance, but availability and quality still vary by product and production partner. Test your best-selling sizes and destinations. We found a Gelato public signal on 1,117 stores.

Printify for provider choice

Printify gives merchants a broad print-provider marketplace. The App Store currently shows 4.7 stars from 4,341 reviews and free installation. Provider choice helps with product breadth and price shopping, while also making vendor selection part of your job.

Do not assume that two Printify providers produce the same garment identically. Compare the blank product, print method, color reproduction, packaging, delivery, reprint policy, and stock history. If the first provider fails, document a backup before ads scale.

A Seven-Step Trial Before Importing the Catalog

Run a small operational test before moving products, reviews, URLs, or ad campaigns.

  1. Choose three representative products. Include the likely bestseller, a difficult variant, and an item with fragile or size-sensitive fulfillment.
  2. Order to two real destinations. Use the shipping services customers will see. Record dispatch time, delivery time, tracking updates, packaging, duties, and damage.
  3. Calculate landed margin. Include product cost, shipping, payment fees, refunds, replacements, apps, and customer acquisition. Our Shopify revenue guide explains why modeled sales alone do not reveal profit.
  4. Create a failure ticket. Ask support a concrete returns or inventory-sync question and measure the quality of the answer.
  5. Test stock and order sync. Change or remove a supplier variant, then confirm what happens in Shopify. Place and cancel a test order.
  6. Read recent low-star reviews. Look for repeated issues in your destination market. A high average can conceal a specific workflow failure.
  7. Set a review date. Track late-delivery contacts, defect rate, refund rate, gross margin, and manual minutes per order for 30 days.

Install one fulfillment system for the first test. Multiple apps can route orders or update inventory differently, which makes a failed order harder to diagnose. The same principle applies to app bloat: an app should remove enough risk or work to justify its cost and storefront impact.

Fulfillment Apps Are Not Product-Research Tools

A supplier app helps import and fulfill products. It does not establish demand, show whether a product is saturated, or prove that an ad will convert.

Use TikTok, Google Trends, customer interviews, marketplace demand, and the methods in our product research guide to form the hypothesis. Use competitor research tools or Shopify spy tools to inspect stores and ads. Use a fulfillment app after the sourcing model is known.

StoreInspect is not a fulfillment app. It helps you inspect public Shopify technology, compare stores, and research categories. You can browse Shopify apps, use the free Shopify app detector, check store traffic signals, or inspect best-selling product clues. Public evidence cannot expose every backend supplier relationship.

After the fulfillment path works, add adjacent tools only where the store needs them. Compare shipping and tracking apps, Judge.me and Loox for reviews, Klaviyo and Omnisend for lifecycle messaging, and PageFly with other page builders when the theme cannot support a required page.

If you still need the storefront itself, start a Shopify trial, choose one fulfillment path, and validate three products before importing 300.

Shopify Dropshipping App FAQ

What is the best dropshipping app for Shopify?

DSers is the strongest starting point for AliExpress or Alibaba. Shopify Collective fits eligible merchants sourcing from other Shopify brands. DropCommerce and Syncee suit regional supplier marketplaces, CJdropshipping covers a sourcing-agent workflow, and Printful, Gelato, or Printify fit print on demand. The best choice depends on the model and destination.

What is the best free Shopify dropshipping app?

Several shortlisted apps have a free plan or are free to install, including DSers, Shopify Collective, DropCommerce, Syncee, CJdropshipping, EPROLO, Printful, Gelato, and Printify. “Free” usually refers to the software entry point. Product, shipping, production, transaction, and optional service costs still apply.

Is DSers better than CJdropshipping?

DSers is better aligned with merchants who want to choose and manage AliExpress or Alibaba suppliers. CJdropshipping is better aligned with merchants who want sourcing requests, warehousing, and fulfillment from one provider. Test both against the same product, destination, and total landed cost.

Is Shopify Collective a dropshipping app?

Yes. Shopify lists Collective among its recommended dropshipping apps. Retailers can import products from eligible Shopify brands, while suppliers fulfill orders. Eligibility, supplier access, margins, and return terms make it different from an open marketplace.

Which Shopify dropshipping app is best for US suppliers?

DropCommerce is the clearest North American specialist in Shopify's recommendation list. Syncee also includes US and Canadian suppliers, while Shopify Collective can connect eligible retailers with domestic Shopify brands. Verify the ship-from warehouse for each product.

Which dropshipping app is best for Europe?

Syncee is a useful first comparison because it includes EU and UK suppliers. Gelato is relevant for print-on-demand merchants because its distributed production network includes European coverage. Check product-level production and delivery availability rather than assuming every catalog item ships locally.

Is print on demand the same as dropshipping?

Print on demand is a form of supplier fulfillment without stocked inventory, but the product is made or printed after the sale. General dropshipping resells an existing product. POD selection depends more heavily on print quality, blank products, design tools, production partners, and branding.

Can I use two dropshipping apps on one Shopify store?

Yes, but route products and orders deliberately. Two apps can work when they own separate product groups, such as Printful apparel and a regional home-goods supplier. Test cancellations, inventory changes, split shipments, and tracking before operating both at volume.

Can StoreInspect detect which dropshipping app a store uses?

Sometimes, but not reliably for backend-only apps. StoreInspect can recognize some public scripts, assets, widgets, and page patterns. DSers, Shopify Collective, Syncee, and many other supplier apps can operate entirely in Shopify Admin, leaving no public proof. Read our detection-method limits before treating a scan as definitive.

How do I switch dropshipping apps without breaking my store?

Export product and variant mappings, preserve handles where possible, assign each open order to one system, test inventory updates, and keep the old app until fulfillment and tracking for its final orders are complete. Redirect any changed product URLs and verify analytics after the move. Our Shopify app migration guide covers the broader replacement signals.

How many dropshipping products should I import first?

Start with three to ten products that you can sample and support properly. A small validated catalog makes it easier to find stock, quality, shipping, and conversion problems. Expand after the order path works and customer feedback supports the product.

Do I need a separate tracking app?

Not automatically. Shopify and many suppliers can pass tracking updates without a separate storefront app. Add a dedicated tracking product when it solves a measured communication or support problem. Compare current options in our Shopify tracking app study.
